Value of Pi
Students should learn that π is an irrational number. For the short-response and extended-response questions in Grades 7–8 (Session 2), the π key and the full display of the calculator should be used in computations. The approximate values of π, such as 3.1416, 3.14, or 22/7, are unacceptable.
